The Nancarrow Project Team

Hi All,

I hope you’re all doing well (or at least I hope you’re hangin’ in there!). Us Nancarrows are also hangin’ in there and taking it day-by-day (so cliche, I know). As we approach the 7-month mark this week, The Nancarrow Project is slowly but surely beginning to take shape. We’re participating in our first fundraising event in a few weeks, a fun 5k walk/run benefitting the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation. Needless to say, we’d love if you’d join us in support of this awesome local cause. Don’t worry if you’re not a runner (or an athlete of any kind), this is a fun, casual, dog-friendly, 3 mile kinda thing. Scroll down for info on signing up!

We’re also really excited to roll out some new TNP gear! Stop by our online Zazzle store for hats, t-shirts, buttons, stickers and more. Stock up for race day or just to show your support — 10% of each purchase will be donated to the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation! Visit our online store here: www.zazzle.com/thenancarrowproject

As for my dad, he’s staying inconceivably strong and is consistently the funniest, most upbeat man around. We expect to have more information on his condition very soon. Thanks for staying in touch and for all your seemingly limitless affection and support. We are beyond grateful for each of you.

xoxo

Hannah Jane Nancarrow

Hannah Jane Nancarrow is a San Diego State University alumni, with a B.A. in journalism and new media. After graduating in 2011, Hannah worked in local T.V. news before her dad was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Hannah managed and contributed to her dad’s incredibly popular blog (thenancarrowproject.com) and social media platforms before he passed away, after 11 months of bravely battling and blogging. The diagnosis was a catalyst for her own writing and for following each whim and dream. Today, Hannah writes her own blog and has been a keynote speaker at San Diego Women's Week, Relay for Life, and a top fundraiser for cancer-related causes throughout San Diego. Hannah also has a passion for health and fitness, since losing 75 pounds in 2011. She earned her Spinning® and group fitness instructor certifications, and teaches weekly cycle classes in Encinitas, California. Hannah also earned her real estate license and works in the family business, Nancarrow Realty Group, in North County San Diego.

    Dear Hannah & Family,
I don’t run much anymore & I will be there anyway to walk with friends in celebration of life and in support of more funding for this cause! I would love to start and finish with the “TEAM!” Let me know where to meet up! I think of all of you each day. I’ve lived this journey with a dear friend and know the challenges. Blessings, Sara

Dear Loren, Hannah, and Nancarrow Family,

I won’t be able to attend on the 21st, most regretfully. It’s my Mom’s 88th, plus my daughter (24), and my husband’s birthday between Sept. 10-14. My mom and daughter are in LA, and our family birthday celebration is on the 21st. So I bought a reusable grocery bag with Loren’s smile on it, and I’ll always have this cool reminder of this event.

If there is anything more I can do to help out the cause or your family, please let me know.

Fondly, Bonnie Jordan Sent from my iPad

  4. Taras Mom says:

Will be there in spirit. Thank you for sharing this part of your lives with those of us that have watched Loren for more years than we want to admit and feel like he is part of our family, too. Blessings on all of you.

Now that I live in Eugene, Oregon and closer to my family, We have reserved Saturday,Sept. 21 as a 5k walk for me and my daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren to walk up here in support of the valiant man, Loren. He and the Nancarrow family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Nancarrow family, I have been following your wonderful blogs. As a mother of a son who fought a brave and determined fight against brain cancer, we learned how easy it is to be up beat and positive. When it comes to your loved one anything is possible. Keep up the great fight! We would do it all over again if we had to. I wish I could join you at your 5k for the SD Brain Tumor foundation to give you all a big hug. As I said in an earlier post, the motto in our home is “We will win”. God bless you all.

Ann. I am so sorry I have not kept in touch with you and your wonderful family. When we first moved into the neighborhood your son was my son’s very first friend. You and your husband were the most gracious couple in the neighborhood. I hope you are doing well. I am not up to date on what is happening in your life, but I am sending out warm thoughts and loving healing wishes to you all. Warmly, Terri Myll
